Biblical and Theological Studies

Apostolic Fellowship Ministries Bible Institute is proud to partner with Christian Outreach Bible Institute and Seminary, Fayetteville, NC. (COBI) This partnership allows us to work in conjunction with this Seminary for curriculum enhancement, selection of instructors, monitoring the quality of education provided and awarding of degrees. 

COBI requires a Biblical and Theological foundation before being accepted in the degree programs. The CORE courses listed are a prerequisite for the Degree Tracks. This CORE track provides (21) course credits. Two of the courses listed are electives (Teachers Training-I and Teacher Training-II) The student receives a Certificate of Biblical and Theological Studies upon completion of this Track. The estimated time frame is one and half to two years for completion. 

 

Prior Learning

 If a student has attended another Bible School, Seminary, College, University, or recognized School of Higher Learning, an official Transcript can be provided, and those credits will be considered. Students must have at least a "C" average for courses submitted to transfer if accepted. If any of the CORE courses have been taken at another credible school, credit will be allotted if an acceptable grade was obtained. 

Military Service Credit

 Military service personnel from any allied national armed forces branch will receive three (3) hours credit for every year of honorable service up to a maximum of (12) credit hours. Credits for military service must be requested prior to enrollment. 

Progressive Senior Discount

 Students Aged 62 and above will receive a 10% discount. Proof of age must be provided, and a discount must be requested before enrollment. 

Other Credit

 Life/ Work/ Ministry Credit: Credit for Student's life, work and ministry will be evaluated based on experience. You may have years of part-time or full-time work in a Christian service, which would be of credit value. You will be asked to submit a short biography/resume for evaluation and verification. These credits may be applied to each degree through the Master’s Degree level. No experience credits are available for the Doctoral Level.

Core Class Track - Core courses are mandatory classes that are part of our core curriculum and are required to meet graduation requirements. This core course track must be taken before major-specific studies.
Bachelor Degrees Offred - (1) A Bachelor of Theology (BTh, ThB, or BTheol) is a good option for people who want to pursue a spiritual vocation, such as ordination for ministry in a church, denomination, or parachurch organization. (2) A Bachelor's of Ministry focuses on practical applications of ministry, such as leadership, preaching, pastoral care, and administration.
Master Degrees Offred - (1) A Master of Theology (ThM) is a graduate degree that allows students to study advanced theology topics, and can help students develop their theological education for personal enrichment, church leadership, or to prepare for a doctorate in religious studies. (2) A Master's of Ministry prepares students to work in church ministry as clergy members, worship leaders, or youth ministers. The degree combines theological studies and church leadership with people-oriented careers, allowing students to develop communication skills and share their talents with the community.
Doctoral Degrees Offred - (1) A Doctor of Theology (ThD) is an advanced research degree that focuses on Christian theology and is equivalent to a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and gives you insights into a focused area of study and lays a strong foundation for future doctoral studies or a lifetime of spiritual learning and practice. (2) A Doctor of Ministry (DMin) is a professional doctorate that's designed to help people in ministry become more effective in their roles. This degree is intended to help leaders in Christian ministry, parachurch organizations, or missions become more effective. It's also meant to enrich religious leaders in both traditional and non-traditional settings, and to deepen their understanding of ministry.
